Conferences and other events

The Department organizes the annual Conference Ernesto Veiga de Oliveira, delivered by an anthropologist (national or foreign) of recognized merit and prestige.

It also promotes a Welcome Venue for new students, which includes a display of an ethnographic film and a discussion with the author and director. In the next 5 years, we will hold a series of lectures, by anthropologists and specialists in other fields, on the public and applied dimension of contemporary Anthropology. Lastly, the Department, in collaboration with the Network Center for Research in Anthropology (CRIA), promotes occasional conferences and other free entry activities (colloquia, seminars, debates on research projects in progress).
