Mobility Programmes

Checklist

The steps you should take and things you should know:

  • Contact the International Relations Office at your home university. Each institution is responsible for the selection of students. Ask them information about the exchange possibilities.
  • The official confirmation sent by the student home university starts the mobility process at ISCTE-IUL International Relations Office (IRO). A digital package with practical information is usually sent directly to the selected students.
  • Read the instructions carefully before applying.
  • Whenever you need, contact the IRO staff responsible from incoming students Cristina Sobreira, Joana Caranguejeiro and Ana Sofia Almeida. See contact details here.
  • Remember the deadlines.
  • Check our website from time to time. The pages are updated when new information becomes available.
  • The main teaching language at ISCTE-IUL is Portuguese but an increasing number of degree programmes and courses are offered in English each year. In order to attend courses in Portuguese your language level should be adequate, at least at an intermediate level.
  • The courses are free of charge for the exchange students admitted through the Erasmus programme or a bilateral exchange agreement.

Don't forget:

  • To inform the IRO of your arrival and departure dates;
  • To bring your identity card or passport, European Health Insurance Card, confirmation of your accommodation in Residence at ISCTE-IUL (if applicable);
  • If you are an Erasmus student do not forget to bring your Learning Agreement;
  • If you are not a European Union citizen, you must obtain a student visa, even for a study period of only three months, and take out private health insurance.
  • Do not hesitate to contact the International Relations Ofice to incoming.iro@iscte.pt if you have any questions.
